Amazing North East: The Dzukou Valley

  A cool place, cloud are the crown of the hills, till the end line of your eyes, you will find flowers and flowers. A heaven on earth, the Dzukou Valley, where the cold wind whisper your ear, where the sky touches your hair, where the cloud kisses the earth, a eye pleasuring place of North East India. Walking through a green field, down to up, up to down, with listening united song of beautiful pink, blue, red and yellow flowers is always a common dream of us. When we had watched such kind of scenario on movie or television, many of us begin to dream to have fun on such places. But many of those places are too far from us or outer country and need to expend so much money if you want to delight at those. And also due to our rash daily life we are unable to reach the places of pace.

Regarding this uncomfortable reason, there is solution,i.e Dzukou Valley. You can enjoy the nature with its beauty at Dzukou Valley. If you are interested in adventure than it will be the best place that you ever seen. The Dzukou Valley is a valley located at the border of the states of Nagaland and Monipur. This valley is well known for its natural environment, seasonal flowers and flora and fauna. It is situated at an altitude of 2452 m above sea level, behind the Japfu Peak located in Nagaland. The rare Dzukou Lily is found only in this valley. The valley is famous for its wide range of flower in every season. But the most famous one is the Dzukou lily. The word Dzukou is originally derived from the Viswema dialect of the Angamis which means "Soulless and Dull" referring to when some ancestors of Viswema who moved out to establish a new village in Dzukou, due to the unfavorable weather conditions they were unable to harvest crops which led them to say "the valley is very beautiful but is dull and soulless".A common misconception is that Dzukou derives its meaning from the Angami word which translates to "Cold Water" referring to the ice cold stream that flows through the valley. To reach the valley you have to track up to 6-7 hour. The path is consisting with two part. To half of the way artificial steps are created and the rest you have to walk through the wild forests, crossing the streams and claiming the hill. There are two paths that connect Dzukou Vally.The main entry is from the foothills of Vismema village where one can travel to the rest house above Mt. Teyozwu by a Car. From here one has to climb forty minutes to the top of the mountain. This is where Dzukou starts but the main valley is still another two hours walk away. One can exit the valley from the same route but if one is planning to come back by foot the Jakhama route is shorter.It can also be reached in five hours of trek from Mt. Isu(Tempu) of Senapati district of Monipur . Trek from the former route is about 17 km and takes longer and is less challenging, however mind the stone cut staircases in the middle. The later route is more challenging but you get to reach the guest house in just about 4-5 hours. From the guest house the valley is visible and its just about 45 minute  walk downhill’s. The new five-hour trek route was opened by MMTA (Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association).There are many NGOs and adventure tour operators, who organize treks to the Dzukou Valley. There is a Helipad just next to the Guest house however no service is seen in the last few years.
Dzukou Valley can be your destination, in which you can enjoy your holydays with nature. It is a beautiful place of Amazing North-East Region of India. If you are a foreigner than you have to come India and then take flight or train to Guwahati of Assam. From Guwahati you can go there on car.
